The ability to manage change is a critical skill for all organisations. Volatility, complexity, uncertainty and ambiguity are all facets of an increasingly turbulent business environment where the ability to adapt and navigate change is vital to success.
Change can be destabilizing and costly in terms of performance, profitability and people i.e. it can contribute to heightened absenteeism and lowered retention and engagement.
During organisational change, people need clarification and clear working structures with commonly defined guidelines and procedures, clear roles & expectations, realisable goals, regular and transparent communication plus a supportive working environment.
To be effective, change needs to be managed proactively and strategically. In this course, you will learn how to:
- Develop a clear vision and understanding of the culture required for the organisation to succeed
- Leverage the opportunities and manage the challenges
- Understand the process of change and monitor progress
- Develop a shared purpose by communicating the reasons for change
- Create an effective change management action plan that engages and supports people along the way
“Having worked with Dolores on a number of complex issues over many years in several strategic areas, I can highly recommend her ability in achieving positive outcomes that are doable. Dolores can break down complex issues into manageable pieces and establish the framework for change.” Jill Deering / CEO / Nurses on Wheels
Resolving Conflict (to replace conversations that matter)
"There are no great people only great challenges that ordinary people are forced by circumstances to meet." William F. Halsey
Conflict is part of everyday life. It can be caused by a passing comment, something left unsaid at a meeting or in a conversation, hurt feelings over somebody’s actions, lack of acknowledgement, change, unclear division of roles and responsibilities, inadequate supply of resources, assumptions or difference of opinion as to ‘how things should be done’.
Conflict builds in many ways. People blame each other and feel justified in doing so. Most of us avoid conflict as we find it challenging or confronting. Unresolved conflict simmers below the surface waiting to explode usually at the wrong person in the wrong place.
This training session aims to help individuals not only understand their own behavioural patterns but also to develop simple strategies when dealing with confrontation or challenges. The training methodology is experiential, interactive and fun.
In this course, you will learn how :
- Skills and strategies to resolve conflict comfortably
- Identify and explore individual responses to conflict
- Use the art of rapport in effective negotiations
- Map the conflict to identify the real issues, needs & concerns
- Manage and harness emotions
“One of our goals, through this training, was to make an investment in our people to help them develop as individuals in their own right. From a H.R. perspective, we felt our organization could only gain from such an investment. Ideally, we wanted an approach that would marry the necessary theoretical knowledge, with the tools to ignite self-awareness and therefore help tap into the potential of each of the individuals. This is what Dolores Cummins provided for us.” Carmel Connellan / Regional HR Manager / AIG Europe
